How do you know when you truly love someone? I don’t mean those first few flutters, the lust, the happiness and carefree existence of a relationship. I mean when you really love them and truly cannot imagine being without them? It’s amazing when that feeling hits you.
It is when you love them for their flaws and not in spite of them. It is when you look at them and see only the wonderful things in their soul. It is when surrounded by everyone else, you see only them. It is when you look into their eyes and see you both as an old couple, still kissing and holding hands, still madly in love.
It is when you love every inch of their body and the feeling of gliding your hand up their arm is as exciting and as intoxicating as the last time you had truly amazing sex. It is when you crave never to let go when lost in their embrace. It is the intoxicating thing about them that you can’t describe. When that person is a like a drug.
It is not lust, though lust is part of it and it is just as intoxicating, just as addictive, just as intense.
It is larger and far nobler than any individual physical act that exists between you. It is when the person they are is all you want right now.
